Planning a wedding comes with a million questions — and I'm here to make things easier. Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common queries couples ask me. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact me.

General questions

  • I create and deliver personalised, legal wedding ceremonies that reflect your story and style.

  • Weddings, elopements, vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, naming days, milestone birthdays, funerals and memorials.

  • Yes, I’m a Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant.

  • As early as possible — especially for popular dates! A minimum of one month is required for legal weddings.

Legal & documentation

  • You’ll need to complete and lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with me at least one month before your wedding.

  • Absolutely — I’ll guide you through it and witness your signatures.

  • Yes, two witnesses over 18 must be present to sign your marriage certificates.

  • I lodge your paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages in the relevant state/territory office where you got married. You can then apply for your official marriage certificate.

Ceremony planning

  • Yes! I encourage it— and I’m happy to help if you need inspiration.

  • Yes, we’ll work together to create a ceremony that feels just right for you.

  • Of course — your ceremony should reflect who you are.

  • Usually 20–30 minutes, but it’s totally up to you.

Location & travel

  • Yes, absolutely! I’m based in Weston Creek in Canberra but happy to travel across Canberra and the surrounding region (including South Coast, Southern Highlands, and everywhere in between. There will be an additional cost though if I need to travel outside 65 kms from where I’m based. Feel free to contact me to talk about your specific wedding location.

  • Yes, let’s chat about the details and travel arrangements.

  • Travel within 65km is included. Beyond that, a travel fee may apply. Feel free to contact me to discuss.

On the day

  • I wear something professional and neutral to suit your style and setting. We’ll chat about your theme and colours beforehand to make sure everything feels seamless — no wedding day clashes!

  • In the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend, I have a trusted network of experienced celebrants I can call on. I always have contingency plan in place to ensure your ceremony goes ahead smoothly and beautifully.

  • Yes, I bring a high quality PA system so everyone can hear your beautiful vows clearly. It’s ideal for voice amplification during the ceremony. For music, I recommend having a dedicated person manage this - especially if you have specific songs or timing in mind. I’m happy to coordinate with them in advance to make sure everything runs smoothly and your ceremony sounds just the way you imagined.

  • Absolutely! I offer a free, no-obligation chat to see so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. You can book a time directly through my calendar.

  • I take the time to get to know you, your story, and your vibe — then create a ceremony that’s truly yours.

  • Yes, I can run a rehearsal to help everyone feel confident and relaxed. This is included as part of the full wedding package that I offer.

Fees and payment

  • My wedding packages start from $550. I’ll provide a full quote based on your needs.

  • Everything from legal paperwork, to ceremony planning and delivery. I’ll guide you through each step — from the first chat to the final ‘I do.’ For full details, check out my wedding packages, and feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions.

  • Yes, a non-refundable deposit secures your date.

  • If the ceremony is cancelled or rescheduled, you must let me know ASAP.

    • Cancellations made within 30 days of the wedding date are non-refundable.

    • Cancellations made between 30 and 60 days before the ceremony will receive 50% refund of the total fee.

    That said, I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. If something significantly affects your plans, I’ll do my best to work with you to find a fair and compassionate solution. As a registered celebrant, I follow the Code of Practice for Marriage Celebrants, which guides me to act with integrity, respect, and care in all clients interactions - including cancellations.

    All terms and conditions are outlined in the Ceremony Services Agreement, which is signed at the time of booking.
